This August bank holiday weekend sees The Garden Party celebrate its 10th Birthday at its new location of the Tetley Brewery. What was previously a much more intimate summer event at the Faversham has this year grown into what will be a full-blown celebration of culture in the heart of the industrial part of Leeds city centre, keeping ears, eyes and taste buds satisfied from 11am through 11pm on 29th and 30th August.
The eclectic line-up of music has been put together by some of the biggest names in the business from across the North, including The Warehouse Project, Canal Mills and Metropolis among many others. Live sets from Roisin Murphy, Little Dragon, Crazy P Soundsystem and more will no doubt create a feel-good summer atmosphere, along with the range of acclaimed DJs covering a number of electronic music’s sub-genres. Whether it’s old school favourites, deep techno, upbeat house or the bass-heavy you’re after, the likes of Grandmaster Flash, Ame, Bicep and Redlight show that the team behind The Garden Party have all bases covered.
Club partners also include some of Leeds’ favourite selectors such as Mono_Cult, Just A Little and Good Life, so it won’t be easy to stop dancing at 11pm when doors close. Luckily with the event taking place so close to some of the best venues in Leeds, many will no doubt carry on the festivities into the early hours. Wire will host the event’s official after parties through until 6am – stay tuned here for full details.
Those seeking some slower paced activity throughout the weekend can immerse themselves in live art installations and games, and as far as fuelling up between artists goes Leeds Indie Food have curated a line-up of the finest independent food Leeds has on offer, with an array of street food but also fine-dining options to cater for all tastes.
Day tickets are still on offer from £29.50 and weekend tickets at £49.50 here.
