Leeds City Centre lit up last night as thousands turned out to see the Christmas Lights switched on.

Special guests included The Vamps and X Factor finalists Same Difference who
impressed packed crowds with their performances.

An estimated 20,000 people turned  out to watch the switch on in Victoria Gardens.

This year included a double event as Trinity Leeds held their own switch straight afterwards, where visitors indulged in festive treats such as mulled wine and roasted chestnuts.

Paul Smith, Trinity’s Development Marketing manager, commented: “We want to support the city lights switch on by hosting our event straight after on the same day – this means visitors will get a double whammy.”
