Leeds University Union (LUU) has broken the record for the biggest student election in British history.

Over 10,300 students have voted so far in this year’s LUU Leadership Race, beating last year’s record of 9,616 votes cast, and surpassing the Union’s target of 10,000.

Winners of the elections will be announced at 6pm tomorrow in the Union foyer. Leeds Student will be live blogging the event.

The election to decide who will lead the Union in the next academic year closes today at 4pm.
