Dusky bring live ‘Outer’ tour to Canal Mills this February

The house revival of the early 2010s gave rise to artists that created originality within the genre, and made it the oh-so-popular section of the music scene that it is today.

London house duo Dusky are no exception. Finding influence in an expansive body of genres, ranging from Belgian techno, Electronica, vintage progressive house and more, Dusky’s sound is a slick modern hybrid. Favourites include ‘Ingrid is a Hybrid‘, a track that gives house a bit of a garage edge, progressing in a dramatic way that you just know would be special live. Then ‘Sort it out Sharon‘, featuring Wiley, has a fantastic grime and baseline twist that is sure to go down well when Dusky take to the stage at Canal Mills on 18th February.

Between 10pm and 5am, these Canal Mills favourites will perform alongside the likes of Alan Fitzpatrick, Ryan Elliott, Mella Dee, and more. The sounds of Dusky and Alan Fitzpatrick will no doubt compliment each other: high energy and funky techno pairing with house, techno variations and a dabble in garage and grime edge. The darker, trance- fuelled techno of Ryan Elliot is also set to add a different tone to the night, as well as the more bassy sounds of Mella Dee.

Exciting news in terms of audio-visual is that lighting design will come from award winning Will Potts, whose previous work includes impressive displays for Disclosure and Hudson Mohawke. Custom visuals will also come from Flat-E, a company that has previously provided stunning designs for Jon Hopkins. The potential for an audio-visual extravaganza is there.

Tickets are still available here.
