Hyde Park murder: police arrest two people

Police have arrested two people in connection with the murder of a young man in Hyde Park.

Christopher Laskaris, who was 24, was found dead in his flat on St John’s Close on Thursday 17th November. A 22-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man, both from Leeds, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A student who lives on St John’s Close and wanted to remain anonymous told The Gryphon that there have been police and forensics officers at the flat 24 hours a day since the murder.

Police confirmed they have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Swift from West Yorkshire Police said, ‘We have been carrying out extensive enquiries into Christopher’s murder and these two arrests are a significant development. We are still building up a picture of Christopher’s life and the cirucmstances surrounding his death and we would like to hear from anyone who has any information that could assist the investigation.’
