Start your weekend off with an unmissable night of comedy

York Barbican will be hosting a night of comedy on Friday 11th November from 8pm. The Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club event will star international TV comedians Daliso Chaponda, Duncan Oakley and Adam Staunton.

Here’s what you can expect from the stars…

Daliso Chaponda: Not many comedians are a raving success in every continent across the globe but Daliso has breezed to success just about everywhere. He is rock solid bullet proof funny and never fails to reduce audience to hysterics. This dynamic African comedian began his comedy career in Canada at the prestigious The Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. Subsequent appearances across Canada followed including CBC Television’s ‘Trans Canada Comedy Trail’ confirmed his position as Africa’s top comic. Since then he’s been all over the world wowing crowds with his unique brand of top notch comedy. Along the way he’s racked up a clutch of TV credits including BBC Africa, Paramount Comedy, The World Stands Up as well as numerous shows in Australia and Canada.

Duncan Oakley: With musical skills that would easily fit into many rock bands Duncan Oakley performs an infectious mix of musical comedy and stand up that has seen him become one of the leading headliners in the business. With an eye and ear for the silly, rude, playful and downright irritating occurrences of life Duncan musters up songs that not only make you laugh, they bury into the recesses of your mind and find you a humming tune with a smile on your face three days later, confused and wondering where it’s come from

Adam Staunton: is young, small and scally and more than capable of bringing the house down. He’s funny enough to have more than held his own on comedy bill with likes of Sarah Millican and John Bishop. A sharp mixture of eagle-eyed observation and simmering self-deprecation has so far endeared to growing audiences far and wide. Always hilarious, Staunton’s not a household name just yet but is a sure fire bet for the next big thing.

If you cant make the show this Friday, don’t fear! There are 4 other dates: 9 December, 20 January, 24 February and 24 March to keep you smiling.
