West Yorkshire Police have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with an attempted kidnapping of an 11 year old girl in the Beeston area of Leeds.

The incident took place on Beeston Road. The 11 year old girl was stood at a set traffic lights, about to cross.

A car pulled up near the girl and the driver shouted at her, telling her to get inside the car.

He then proceeded to leave the car and approach the girl. She told him to get away but he then grabbed her.

The man then grabbed the rucksack off the girl. He let go of the girl and her bag when she began screaming for help, and she was then able to get away as a result.
Police are looking for anyone with information about this incident and anyone who does is asked to contact Leeds CID via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
