A controlled but aggressive four-piece, The Calls are hotly tipped to be the latest success story of a growing musical movement. Hailing from Leeds, the band know all too well about the hidden secrets of the city’s backstreet intricacies, painting sharp mosaics of tragedy tainted with bittersweet irony. And whilst their riff-heavy sound brushes Leeds’ surface, their lyrics take you deep below the canvas. Clever, raucous and quick, The Calls capture the essence of their city and translate it into an irrepressible language of enchanting disillusionment.
