Preview – Detonate Leeds presents RamJam

David Rodigan has become somewhat of a legend within the Reggae and Dub scene in recent years. His ambition of prolonging the sounds of reggae in UK music culture has brought him to the very centre of current reggae and dub productions and events. He holds two weekly shows on BBC Radio (2 and 1XTRA), plays at numerous festivals usually hosting his own stage, and even achieved an MBE award for his efforts. 2014 marked possibly one of his most successful years, on performing at numerous sell out events Rodigan with his compatriots at Rebel Sound (Shy Fx and Chase & Status) managed to claim victory at the Red Bull Culture Clash above last year’s winner BBK, A$AP MOB and Stone Love.

It is no doubt that this forthcoming year will be just as successful for the 63 year, as he has already started the year touring in Manchester and now coming to Canal Mills aided by the renown Detonate, who are now in their 16th year of producing countless events for Leeds and other UK cities. Rodigan brings with the likes of fellow rebel sound compatriot and true legend of DnB Shy Fx, grime instrumental artist Preditah and DJ Hazard.

On Friday 30th January, Detonate and RamJam will ascend to the converted warehouse of Canal Mills that is now at the epicentre of all underground electronic events in Leeds. The night plays host to a variety of DJs across a number of genres and styles giving the club a refreshing diversity to clubbing as RamJam and Detonate provide us with a night that will include reggae, dub, drum n bass, jump up and grime.
