Media Society, Leeds Student Television held a live seven hour broadcast on Friday 14th November in honour of the leading children’s charity Children In Need. The broadcast, filmed in the Leeds University Union foyer featured various segments of original and creative content commissioned and produced by the members of the student television society. The broadcast was run consistently from 10am to 5pm and raised over £1000 pounds including 40 online donations, plus money raised from bake sales and collection buckets.

The broadcast contained live performances from other societies at the university including Panto Society and Band Society, as well as individual performances from talented students Josie White and Alex Vass, both recognised members of SMS society.
Other key highlights of the day included various entertainment features such as ‘Chillionair’ – a parody of the classic game show ‘Who wants to be a millionaire’ only with the added Chilli factor. Plus a rather comical pre-record of LSTV’s own charity single by the LSTV boys doing an acapella take on East 17’s Stay Another Day.
