Leeds 2s v Sheffield Hallam:
After losing by just two against Hallam in the first half of the season, tensions were high going into the game. In a fixture with infamously bad umpiring, the seconds were going to have to push through to pull out a win.
The first quarter got off to a good start, ending with Leeds leading by one. The defence was working well and triangles in attack meant Jessica Garrington and Natasha Scott were running rings around Hallam’s defence.
A shaky start to the second quarter saw Leeds rapidly drop to 12 points behind. Emily Morris was called off the bench to C, a well needed push in attack, working well this Lucinda Swayne who was feeding exceptionally into the circle. This meant that Leeds ended the quarter six behind.
The third quarter saw no changes to the team. Definite drives through court by Harriet Higby and constant pressure from Georgia Blessed allowed the attack to convert many turnovers to goal. The pressure was mounting and the game became extremely physical, sparking a big reaction from both benches.
Going into the fourth quarter, both teams were riled by the physicality of the game. We were within just four goals of Hallam and knew we needed to push on;. Fresh legs in the form of Lauren Forsyth were brought in to give us an extra push and we started the quarter strongly.
However, dangerous play and lax umpiring meant the game had to be stopped and the captains called to counter the violent game that it was becoming. We kept our heads throughout the last quarter and played exceptionally well as a team. Unfortunately after an initial lead, we ended the game with a loss of 50-44. An unlucky loss for the seconds.

Leeds 3s v Huddersfield:
With it being the final match of the season and Chiv and Liv’s final ever BUCS game, we knew we had to finish on a high.
After starting the game strongly, Leeds thirds got into their stride, immediately taking a strong lead, heading into the second quarter 20 goals to 4.
The strength of the team continued in the second quarter with Leeds’ strong defence dominating the end third, with Ellie Ward picking up every loose ball and Claudia blocking shots resulting in Huddersfield only gaining one goal in this quarter.
With positive encouragement from the side-line from coach Ciara and coach Onah, Leeds continued to hold their lead, going into the final quarter 30 points up.
Excellent shooting from Clare Steele and Chavonne Duckworth meant that Leeds managed to end their last match as a team with a win.

Leeds 4s v Sunderland:
After an undefeated season so far, the fourths were keen for a win. The warm up was poor so the first 5 minutes of the game was slow from Leeds. However the girls pulled through and won the first quarter 10-7.
In the second quarter Sunderland came out fighting, closing the gap. But endless interceptions from Alice Grieve, Georgie Andes and Amie Bloomfield gave opportunities to take the ball to goal, moving 18-13 ahead.
Some changes were made for the third quarter and swift movement in the circle from Alice Gargan and Lucinda Rushton helped Leeds maintain their lead 25-21.
Final changes made for the fourth quarter showed the strongest combination. Some quick movement from Hannah Gee outside and Pebbles Allard inside the circle allowed Leeds to pull away. After an emotional last game, Leeds finished top of league and undefeated for the season. Final score 35-27

Leeds 6s v Teeside:
This week we faced Teesside 3s. Although we only had 8 players we were quietly confident and eager to increase our goal difference substantially. Amy jones stepped up to GA in the absence of Alice Gargan and demonstrated some really good movement around the circle.
In the second half, Tarnia Bleasdale changed position to C and managed to support the team down court whilst making some excellent interceptions. Play dropped at times and we found ourselves making unecessary mistakes. However after a team talk we were motivated to practice for next weeks semi final, final last quarter saw everyone improve their performance and we worked well as a team to achieve a win of 74-2.
