Fashion | Menswear – The Camel Coat

As winter draws on and we’re desperate to swap the scarves for shorts, there isn’t a need to lose your style. One item of clothing which was once reserved for our grandmothers’ coat-cupboards has hit the high-street big time. Still this winter’s must have item: a camel coat. The camel overcoat has been given a makeover. The lines are cleaner, the fit is slimmer and sharper, the weight has been removed – all of this combined makes for a reinvented and refined coat for the end of winter.
The camel overcoat can be worn with almost everything from jeans and t-shirts to casual trousers and a polo. In fact, the clash of styles between a traditionally formal piece and a casual outfit underneath will make you stand out for all the right reasons.
The single-breasted Topman wool coat with a black collar is smart but stylish, (note; possible side effect is looking like Del Boy so be warned). Or you could go for the double breasted coat, which sports a bit of a military theme – my personal favourite. Whatever your preference, there is a camel coat for all occasions and to fit every style.
You don’t have to be tied down by the formal overcoat; for those of you who can’t shake away the formal connotations of the overcoat, you could opt for the camel jacket. Versatile and stylish, this is a perfect alternative. Whatever style you choose, the camel coat has been reinvented for the modern man and will carry on as an iconic piece of menswear fashion.
