Fashion | Brand Alert – Hot!Mess Clothing

Who said winter had to be all about faux furs and different shades of burgundy? Singer/songwriter and fashion’s new kid on the block, Tayla Blue, has traded her hip-hop music notes for a spot in the fashion industry, kicking off her design career with 80s inspired clothing label Hot!Mess. Incorporating her ‘girl next door’ vibe with a bit of Cara-esque beanie wearing, Ms. Blue has produced a snazzy collection injecting shape and colour into everyone’s wardrobe.

Launched in early 2013, Hot!Mess has given a whole new meaning to the Leeds born and bred term ‘edgy’. Think scrunchies, leotards and shell suits, taking us back to an era where Saved By the Bell dominated the style stakes and any outfit was incomplete without some fluorescent pink. Ladies, this is also the time to get your man into some serious vintage over-haul, as most of Hot!Mess clothing is unisex (except the crop tops, of course!) showcasing our traditional button-up shirt with a graphic twist, or voluminous bombers with a metallic sheen –ideal for any edgy guy out there and his vintage-loving girlfriend. Team one of the many floral leotards with your favourite high-waisted jeans, or throw an oversized bomber jacket over your typical uni attire and voila! A colour popping kick to our dreary winter days, proving 80s fashion has still got it.

Hot!Mess also donates a percentage of their profit to UK Youth, an organisation dedicated to supporting young people and helping them realise their potential. Their work has a lasting impact, encouraging young people to take responsibility and get involved as citizens, helping give people a voice and build life skills. Show-stopping online fashion which also allows us to do our bit for the community? Let’s get clicking!
