Fashion | Sneak Peek – Meadham Kirchhoff for Topshop

Topshop is a brand boasting the great ability to help the rise of up and coming London designers. With the success of their J.W Anderson collection still making our thirst for pattern reel, they’ve done it again by collaborating once more with Meadham Kirchhoff, with the first collaboration in 2010 when the brand was just starting to spread amongst the fashion elite.  Going against the grain and creating conceptual and awe inspiring collections is something Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff do best. Viewing one of their shows is more like watching a visual narrative than it is a mere collection of garments.

Their flare for theatricality has filtered down from their spring summer collection and promises to be an explosion of frills, fur, tassels, lace and all things saccharin. In true more-is-more fashion the collection is an amalgamation of all the reasons why we love the brand: over embellishment, playful use of colour and texture and exciting concepts.

The design duo has created a fictional girl band: The Cherrys, for which the collection has been created. With a fox-force-five element to it, each member has their sartorial edge: Cherry Blossom is the girly girl, the quaint Cherry Cherie, Cherry Pikka is the rebellious one and Cherry Satanika brings a touch of mischief. The overall aesthetic for the  collection was influenced by a combination Marilyn Manson, the Spooky Kids, Kembra Pfahler and glam rock. It’s an enormous and all encompassing collection offering a myriad of choice for any customer to adapt. So direct from the horse’s mouth there will be something for everyone.

Which Cherry will you be? Head to stores on the 21st of November to find out.
