This season the winter warmer of choice moved away from that oh-so-itchy traditional woollen jumper and settled on something far snugglier. The fluffy jumper has been winter’s symbol of femininity since the days of Hitchcock’s heroines and Nastassja Kinski’s infamous bright pink number in 1984’s Paris Texas.
Designers such as Richard Nicoll championed the teddy-bear number in blushed hues, (a look that filtered down to Topshop along with other high-street stores), along with Jonathan Saunders who continued the feminine theme by stating his main influence for the collection as “tits”.
So whether you’re teaming it with a Peter Pan collar and midi skirt, or having it atop a mini kilt, this is the jumper to be seen in once the frost bites.
