The boys over at Dilation take us on a jaunt from 80’s disco through to Parisian future-sound with their list of top ten tunes that they’re spinning at the moment. So put your iTunes ‘uni-party’ playlist to one side and turn up your speakers if you’re out tonight.

Tickets are still available for the Dilation Autumn Sessions party at Beaver Works this Saturday, if you haven’t got yours already you can buy them HERE.

Krystal Klear – From The Start

“Krystal Klear played at our summer party in 2012 and he dropped this tune at the peak of his set. It was pretty epic.”

FKJ – So Much To Me

“FKJ is coming to play at our next event and we’re really excited to have him down. This is the tune that first got us into him.”

Future Underground Nation- It’s The Way

“DJ EZ came and played one of our favourite Dilation sets ever. He plays this tune in most of his sets but seeing this pop off in Beaver Works was crazy. We were setting off confetti cannons all over the place on the drop.”

Tom Browne – Funkin’ For Jamaica

“When Norwood Soul Patrol played at our summer party this year they started their three hour set playing to about 10 people and finished playing to about 1000. Playing on strictly vinyl they brought loads of summery feel good tunes. We think this tune sums up their set pretty well.”

Ms Dynamite – Dy-Na-Mi-Tee

“This was the first tune that Ms Dynamite played when she came and performed this year. We’ve never seen a crowd go as mad at a Dilation event.”

Justin Timberlake – Senorita

“Its a bit of a guilty pleasure but its acceptable to play it at five am. There’s been quite a few times where this tune has split the room with boys on one side and girls on the other, all singing at each other for the breakdown in the end. It sounds pretty weird but if you’ve witnessed it you’ll understand.”

BranVan3000 Feat. Curtis Mayfield – Astounded (MJ Cole Master Mix)

“We’ve had MJ Cole come and play for us twice because we like him so much. This tunes got a wicked party vibe and it’s had people going crazy when he plays it.”

The Natural-Ites – Picture On The Wall

“Joe, our resident reggae selectah was looking for this vinyl for a while with no luck. His birthday coincided with one of our very first events at the Commonplace and this vinyl was his birthday present from Dilation. If we can remember correctly it got wheeled up three times when he played it.”

Sia – Little Man (Wookie Remix)

“It was a massive pleasure having Wookie come and play for us. He played an amazing set in the basement was an all round nice guy. This tune went off.”

Luther Vandross – Never Too Much

“One of those tunes that you could play thousands of times and it never gets boring; the title says it all. Another tune that we love playing at five am.
