LFW Roundup | Print Mash Ups

This spring summer we see designers mash things up in the print department with digitally abstract forms seen with our print staple: the floral print. Prints aren’t for the faint hearted for SS14.Geometric lines cut across floral motifs and natural forms are fragmented by bold panels by the likes of Jean-Pierre Braganza and with this we see prints take on a harder mood than before. Preen by Thornton Bregazzi’s take on the trend saw a much looser interpretation with scattered florals punctuated by digital cuboid forms. As varied as this trend comes one thing’s for sure these prints sure ain’t for picnics in the park.

And whilst we’re onto prints it would be rude to leave out one lady in particular. True to form, Mary Katrantzou THE matriarch of digital prints since her debut collection in 2008, served us with a mind blowing collection based on fragmented perspectives of footwear and hyper-florals. This Spring Summer when it comes to prints, go hard or go home.
