Fears that this year the student budget’s gonna bite? No worries, with some savvy purchases on pink basics this season you can take your autumn wardrobe into spring summer.
AW13 was THE season for pink and for SS14 it ain’t going nowhere with a range of designers re-injecting the sugary hue into their collections. With the coming season we see the brands and designers play with this trend adding textural contrasts into the mix, with the likes of Burberry Prorsum layering this trend up in terms of shade and texture. Think intricate lace against cashmere and pastels packed with a punch of neon coral and scorched cerise- a touch employed by Burberry, Eudon Choi and Holly Fulton‘s SS14 collections. Fancy going bold? Colour block against black for a bold reference to Jean-Pierre Braganza and Osman’s collections. This colour combo is gonna be big.
And lastly, Spring/Summer rarely passes without a touch of luxe and this time round it was served by blogger come designer, Charlie May offering a confident collection of high-shine, ultra-luxe metallic items in peachy rose golds.
One thing’s for sure, we can hold onto that pink shirt…
