LFW SS13: Peter Pilotto

Eccentric prints were somewhat of a recurring theme amongst the designer collections this year, with the print-genies behind Peter Pilotto’s show most definitely demonstrating this. Gaining inspiration from Renaissance paintings, cathedrals and religion, designer duo, Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos introduced their spring ‘13 collection with a bang: stark monochrome patterns infused with pastels and dashes of neon paraded the catwalk. Elsewhere were structured tops that sported the current season’s peplum and mirrored embellishments adorned garments to reflect Pilotto’s maximalist aesthetic. Straight-cut, tailored trousers came in zesty orange and cobalt blue and delicate silk dresses lit up the catwalk with their equally vivid colours. Pilotto’s craftsmanship was further highlighted through his play on textures,

which ranged from intricate beading and embellishments to subtler crepe silk fabrics. With its colours, prints, patterns and adornments, the Peter Pilotto SS13 collection isn’t one for fashion’s faint-hearted.
