Skinfluencers have taken over the beauty scene on TikTok, transforming people’s skincare routines all over the world with viral videos.
We have all been sucked into the never-ending stream of content that is TikTok at one point or another. With this comes a variety of types of videos, from viral dances to comedy – the options are endless. Skincare influencers on Tiktok, or ‘skinfluencers’ have dominated TikTok recently with the must-haves of the skincare world as well as what to avoid (don’t you dare go near St Ives Scrub). To save you hours of scrolling, here is a list of the top products that skinfluencers have recommended which transform your skincare routine.
First up we have @J.C.Dombrowski, a marine biology student who also posts regularly about skincare. His top product for a breakout is the Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patch, which he claims prevents picking and also reduces inflammation. For cleansers, he recommends CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser (suprise surprise, this will pop up a lot!), which gently moisturises the skin. Another CeraVe favourite of his is the CeraVe Moisturising Cream. The Ordinary is a brand which is loved by skinfluencers everywhere, and Dombrowski is no different, recommending their Glycolic Acid Toner.
Next is @Benneiley, whose mantra is good skin, good vibes. After putting pore strips to shame, he instead swears by The Ordinary Salicylic acid Masque to get rid of blackheads around the nose. He recommends using this product 1-2 times a week after cleansing. For other problem areas, Ben swears by Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant Salicylic acid, and priced at £10 for 30ml, you can’t go wrong!
@Katyaniomi, like most skinfluencers, raves about the brands The Ordinary and CeraVe. In fact, according to I-D, Superdrug has stated that they have seen a 65% weekly increase in sales of CeraVe in June. Katya’s favourite CeraVe products are the Hydrating or Foaming Facial Cleanser as well as the Ultra-Light Moisturizing Lotion with Sunscreen. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% is her most recommended product from The Ordinary.
Lastly, but certainly not least, is the skincare expert himself – @SkinbyHyram. Like Katya, he loves the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser and Moisturizing Lotion, but Hyram does have more recommendation when it comes to the cult beauty brand The Ordinary. He mentions The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution, The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% serum or 5% serum as well as The Ordinary Peeling Solution (as long as you do not use it more than three times a week) as some of his favorite products. Roche-Posay is another brand which Hyram loves, specifically the Effaclar Duo and Hydrating Cleanser. His favourite budget face wash is the affordable Simple Micellar Gel Wash which is fragrance free and suitable for most skin types.
Now there is no excuse to not have your skincare routine perfected and not to have TikTok on your phone!
