Review: My Dad Wrote a Porno Season 5

This month, we have been graced with the next instalment of My Dad Wrote a Porno, Jamie Morton’s recital of his dad’s ludicrous attempt at erotic fiction, entitled Belinda Blinked. Jamie, with help from the hilarious musings of Alice Levine and James Cooper, reads painfully through the bizarre and toe-curling-ly funny chapters, detailing the latest set of adventures for Belinda and the rest of the ensemble. By book five, fans appear more invested in the outrageous but gripping plotline of the books, rather than the explicit scenes that pop up suddenly within the drama. This instalment certainly doesn’t disappoint, with scandalous betrayals, danger at every turn and of course, brilliantly vulgar sex.  Every possible avenue is explored in the most ridiculous fashion and described with rather hideous language, yet the riotous laughter from Jamie, Alice and James creates an addictive charm that draws in listeners from across the world. It would be most people’s worst nightmare to delve into the explicit thoughts of a parent, but Jamie handles it with soft-spoken hilarity; rambling and giggling from James and Alice which culminates in an extremely enjoyable if slightly horrifying listen. My Dad Wrote a Porno is currently on tour, performing live shows with unheard content and guaranteed entertainment. Tickets are still available for the UK shows starting in May 2020, at mydadwroteaporno.com.
