Thurston Moore Preview // 16/10/2019

Posted on 8th October 201926th June 2020 by Safi Bugel
Our resident music and clubs editor Safi Bugel prepares us for Thurston Moore’s highly anticipated Hyde Park debut.

Next week, Thurston Moore will take on Leeds’ Hyde Park for the first time with his much-anticipated show at Brudenell Social Club. As part of an extensive tour across Europe and America, the ex-Sonic Youth kingpin will be joined by his ensemble the Thurston Moore Group.

The tour follows the release of Spirit Counsel earlier this year. A collection of three extended compositions recorded across 2018 and 2019, the record encourages meditation with its spiritual themes and expansive rhythm sections.

Last month, Thurston shared a cover of New Order’s 1983 track ‘Leave Me Alone’, which is a B-side to a trio of new 7-inch singles. You can find this part of the upcoming series below.
