Mac DeMarco Brings Cowboy Indie to Halifax, 27.06.19

Mac Demarco is set to play The Piece Hall, Halifax this Thursday in support of his latest, fourth album ‘Here Comes the Cowboy’. Presented by Brudenell, Mac will be supported by Yellow Days, Amyl & The Sniffers and Working Men’s Club.

The Canadian singer- songwriter described the album “this one is my cowboy record. Cowboy is a term of endearment to me, I use it often when referring to people in my life. Where I grew up there are many people that sincerely wear cowboy hats and do cowboy activities. These aren’t the people I’m referring to.”

Having recently deleted his social media accounts, fans are eager to see him perform, bringing his good humour and laid-back personality to the stage.

The charismatic front man is sure to dabble in both his most recent, more composed releases, to the old classics like ‘Salad Days’ and ‘Chamber of Reflection’, which will no doubt get the crowd going.

Just last night, Mac kicked off his taster UK tour ahead of his Glastonbury performance, playing at the small London record store, Rough Trade. Encouraging fans to join the show, Mac urged ‘it requires a little help from y’all’, resulting in slightly questionable singing from the audience (unless Rough Trade’s Instagram video does not do it justice, perhaps one shouldn’t judge if not present). Following his Glastonbury appearance, Mac will tour Europe, ending in the UK in November, playing the likes of Alexandra Palace and Manchester Apollo.
