At just 18 years old, Maisie has grown an impressive fanbase with her candescent song-writing and melodies. On Saturday she brings her talents to Leeds Hyde Park Book Club, an intimate venue perfect for the candour of Maisie’s music.
In new single ‘Stay Young’, Maisie delivers an upbeat, pop-backing coupled with her usual honest lyrics. It’s a song that’s sure to set an animated atmosphere on Saturday night. Though Maisie will be joined by a backing guitarist and keyboardist, she’ll undoubtably take centre stage: as she sings in ‘Stay Young’, there’s no ‘marching band’, just her ‘and steel strings’.
Her heartfelt, acoustic tracks such as ‘Details’ and ‘You to You’ from her debut EP ‘Dressed Too Nice for a Jacket’ are just as guaranteed to create sing-alongs. There is a certain emotional relatability to Maisie; after all she writes what she knows- about what it’s like to be a teenage girl.
Her year of touring continues Maisie’s journey to success, and if she continues to stay true to the music she is making, it shouldn’t be one that ends anytime soon.
