A 33-year-old man has been arrested in Leeds on suspicion of preparing acts of terrorism, the Independent has reported.
The man has been taken to West Yorkshire police station following an ‘intelligence-led’ operation.
The suspect’s home is being searched and investigators have said the man was arrested on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts.
Superintendent Chris Bowen has urged anyone with information to contact the West Yorkshire police.
“I understand our communities will have concerns about this police activity but I want to offer my reassurance that public safety is our top priority. This is a pre-planned, intelligence led arrest as part of an investigation into suspected extreme right-wing activity.”
