Police have confirmed that a dead body was found in Hyde Park earlier this morning. The body of a man was discovered at 17 minutes past 9 collapsed outside a house on Royal Park Avenue.
Locals arose to find their street had been cordoned off by police tape and that a crime scene tent had been pitched in a resident’s front garden to screen the body. The area of the road which has been cordoned off is the section of Royal Park Avenue that connects Brudenell Street and Brudenell Avenue.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Residents of Royal Park Avenue were detained and questioned for up to three hours, as police and detectives searched for any clues and attempted to piece together the events which unfolded in the early hours of this morning. No details of the exact events have been released yet, but The Gryphon have been informed that investigators are currently not treating the incident as suspicious.
The police have confirmed that the body in question is not believed to be that of a student at the University of Leeds or Leeds Beckett. The police are currently in the process of informing the next of kin, before any details of the individual are released.
