At around 9.45pm last night, firefighters were called to Pryzm after a blaze started on the top of a smoking shelter.

Two fire crews, one from Leeds and one from Hunslet, arrived on the scene, by which point the blaze had spread to the roof.

After putting out the flames around 10 percent of the roof was damaged. Salvage operations begun last night.

Pryzm is due to open this evening, but it is yet unclear whether the blaze will prevent this from happening.
