The Edward Boyle cafe was originally called The Book Club, but following a dispute with local venue The Hyde Park Book Club, the university announced it would be changing the name.
The new name chosen for the cafe is The Edit Room and can already be found on staff aprons and on the university’s website.
The cafe first opened its doors to the public back in January, but its name quickly caused controversy among students, staff and locals, with many claiming it undermined the branding of Hyde Park Book Club, a local venue popular among students.
Following media coverage from The Gryphon and the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds University announced it would be changing the name of the eatery.
After weeks of blank signage, it appears the university have finally settled on a new name.
