Green Man is back and better than ever before. The boutique festival is located in the Brecon Beacons, nestled in a green valley, hiding from the real world and allowing its fantasy to unfurl. From 18th-20th August 2017, Green Man makes its return, presenting you with another chance to grab life by its coat tails and hop on the ride.
And they haven’t held out on headliners either. PJ Harvey, Ryan Adams and Future Islands will be taking the prime spots over the weekend, setting the bar high for the other performers. They need no introduction, but here, have one anyway.
PJ Harvey is like Nick Cave’s female counterpart, presenting us, unabashed, with her writhing, tortured rock that energises and simultaneously destroys.
Ryan Adams’ famous reimagining of Taylor Swift’s 1989 shot him into the consciousness of the world’s teenage girls, but it’s emblematic of his long-term unwillingness to be defined by his country roots.
Future Islands’ anthemic and orchestral indie rock has continued to grow and develop, and will slot in perfectly to the dramatic surroundings of Green Man Festival.
These fantastic headliners are joined by a motley crew of cult legends and new faces. In one corner we have the likes of Daniel Johnston, Shirley Collins, Lambchop, Saint Etienne, and Julian Cope, lending their star-spangled mystique to the line-up. The other side is occupied by artists like The Orielles, BadBadNotGood, Sunflower Bean, The Big Moon, Shame and Warhaus.
For nightlife, you need look no further than Jon Hopkins, Huw Stephens, Tom Ravenscroft and Earth Recordings, who will undoubtedly be bringing something unique and special to each night.
With weekend tickets at £155 for students, it would be rude to say no.
