Chart – Frankie’s Picks

Jamie xx re-work ft. The xx You Got The Love
This song is no newcomer to remixes and covers, but The xx manage to add something new to it with their version. Not a new re-work of the track, but a great way to get excited for The xx’s upcoming third album.

Motor City Drum Ensemble L.O.V.E. (Studio !K7)
Motor City Drum Ensemble (Danilo Plessow) promises to bring back ‘some soul to house & techno music’ and this track is a great example of that.

Andhim Hausch (Get Physical Music)
As well as producing great songs, the duo from Cologne manage to simultaneously keep up their hilarious Facebook presence. Hausch is a great house song to put on in the background and relax to.

Mount Kimbie Carbonated (Hotflush Recordings)
Released in 2010, Carbonated is probably the most well-known song from this British duo. A great mellow track with an instantly recognisable beat.

Floating Points — Myrtle Avenue (Eglo Records)
Released on the ‘Shadows’ EP, Myrtle Avenue is a personal favourite. Floating Points (Sam Shepherd) is not only a producer of great music, but also a neuroscientist. Myrtle Avenue is almost ten minutes long, but never gets boring.
