ONLINE EXCLUSIVE: S/S 17 Fashion Week: The Street Style Edit

With four weeks of catwalk fashion launching the new collections of Spring/Summer 17, we are left inspired, and very much in awe, as for most, we probably can’t afford to wear a single piece. And so, our attention turns to those outside the shows, littering the streets of New York, Milan, London, Paris (and of course our instagram feeds!).

Take inspiration from the bloggers, celebrities and off-duty models who wear street style so well by personalising current trends to suit an individual and personal style.

NEW YORK

Graphic T- Shirts: Slouchy and comfortable, casual tees dominated street style this season, whether they’re merchandise of a favourite band or printed with a tongue in cheek slogan – everyone seems to be wearing them.

The Ruffle Blouse: Perfect for adding a feminine touch to any outfit.

LONDON

Boyfriend Jeans: Loose with a boxy fit, boyfriend jeans are still a popular staple, whatever the weather.

Velvet and the Slip Dress: Transitioning summer and evening wear into casual, autumnal street style.

MILAN

Pattern Clash: Clashing graphic prints and colours schemes were dominant on the streets of Milan, an unusual edge to the otherwise classic Italian style. Pair opposing prints in the form of a blouse or coat with a contrasting bottom half for a mismatched twist.

Accessorise: Red: As favoured in recent collections such as Gucci, red is the new black. In the form of shoes and accessories, this trend adds a pop of colour to any outfit.

Maxi Lengths: Floor sweeping lengths in pleats, prints and floral patterns, as seen on the streets of this fashion capital, are another perfect staple for layering.

PARIS

Sportswear as Casual wear: Comfort is key, and with sports luxe still a prominent trend, you can’t go wrong.

The Leather Look: The staple leather jacket, as seen on the streets of Paris, is an essential item no matter what your style. Worn in the form of a biker jacket with pyjama trousers, or as a double leather combination, this trend is unique from previous seasons.
