Lethal Bizzle and Miss Dynamite hit the Freshers’ Finale

The biggest night of the (post) Freshers calendar is fast approaching. This Saturday, thousands will be heading to the union for what is essentially Fruity on steroids – the Freshers Finale.

The union always pull out all the stops for this event, with quite a few big names appearing on the line up over the years.

My Freshers’ Finale back in 2013 featured Wretch 32, John Newman and Greg James, and I have (hazy) fond memories of dancing about in a sweaty mass of people with an inflatable unicorn and full face paint. It’s a necessity for every fresher to experience.

And this year the Freshers’ Finale will be taking us back to the noughties, with hip-hop artist Ms Dynamite set to perform on the main stage. She rose to fame back in 2002 with her hit song Miss Dy-na-mi-tee and a hit album A Little Deeper, winning Brit awards and the Mercury Music Prize.

After a lengthy hiatus she’s back, making records with the likes of Labyrinth and David Guetta.

West London hip hop act WSTRN have also just been added to the line up, and they’ll be taking over Stylus on the night alongside Fruity.

Terrace will host Twisted, playing all the 90s and 00s hip hop, while Top Gun will be based in Pyramid playing all the 80s hits.

The main act of the night however, is rapper Lethal Bizzle. Best known for his ‘Fester Skank’ and being the unfortunate victim of the quiz team name ‘Lethal Quizzle’, the Walthamstow born rapper will be sure to make the Union bounce on Saturday.

Make sure you familiarise yourself with the timings of the night so you don’t miss out on your favourite acts – it’s sure to be a big one!
