University mourns loss of Dr Anthony Carrigan

Dr Anthony Carrigan, a lecturer in Postcolonial Literature and Cultures in the School of English since 2013, has died following a period of illness.

Anthony studied at Cambridge, London, and Leeds, and published extensively on postcolonialism, environmental studies and economics, as well as organising a number of international events and conferences.

The School of English have issued a statement saying: “As a friend, colleague and teacher the loss of Anthony Carrigan has been deeply felt. He made a fantastic contribution to the life of the School in the relatively short time he was with us. Our thoughts are with his partner, son, family and friends as we seek to celebrate his life and the difference he made to those who knew him.”

A JustGiving page has been set up in memory of Dr Carrigan to raise funds for The Christie, a specialist cancer centre where Dr Carrigan received treatment. At the time of writing, a total of £4,789.59 has been raised. You may contribute by following the link below:
