Best takeaways in Leeds

Having one of the highest student populations in the country, Leeds offers takeaways for all tastes on virtually every corner. With deadline season upon us, takeaways can become our true saviours – who has the time to cook when you have a 3,000 word essay due in on Monday? Knowing how hard it can be to choose where to order from, I have selected some of my favourite (and if I do say so myself, best) takeaways in Leeds.

Pitza Cano

92 Queen’s Rd, Leeds LS6 1HU

(0113 275 6256)

If you’re a bit more discerning with your pizza, Pitza Cano is the place to go. With toppings ranging from the basic margherita to parma ham and mascarpone, or halloumi and asparagus, the selection is impeccable and wouldn’t be out of place down South, as well as being affordable, with a 12” pizza and toppings costing under £7. The hummus, wedges and cheesy garlic bread are also worth a mention.

Bento King

10 Hyde Park Rd, Leeds LS6 1AF

(0113 278 8719)

For those of you whose go-to takeaway is Chinese food, Bento King should be at the top of your preference list. They offer all the classics – stir frys, dim sums, egg fried rice, noodles, as well as some house specials. For a very decent price, you get your choice of good quality food delivered to your door quickly.

Tariq’s

10A St Michael’s Rd, Leeds LS6 3AW

(0113 275 1881)

Moving onto one of my personal favourites – Indian food. There is nothing better than a hot curry with rice to warm you up on a warm winter night in. Tariq’s offers some of the best Indian food in town. I recommend trying the chicken hara masala – it has the perfect amount of spice without taking away from the delicious flavor!

Bangkok Café

12 Hyde Park Rd, Leeds LS6 1AF

(0113 274 1060)

Bangkok café specializes in authentic Thai food, and it does it well. From the classic green thai curry to delicious Tom Kha soups, the quality of the food is consistent and delivery is fairly quick. The food always arrives hot, which is definitely a must when you’re too hungry to reheat your dinner!

Humpit

The Corn Exchange, Call Lane

(0113 245 3836)

A slightly less conventional takeaway choice (but nonetheless tasty), Humpit specializes in Middle Eastern Food. Originally starting as an eat-in only restaurant in the city center, you can now experience it from the comfort of your own home using Deliveroo. They offer some of the best hummus in Leeds, as well as warm falafels, salads, all served with some authentic pitta bread. My only wish is that they stayed open past 5pm.
