Frequenting Leeds and the North, Detonate is renowned for bringing the masses the finest in underground, hip-hop, grime, jungle and garage, and this event will be no different. UK Garage Guru DJ EZ will be gracing the decks in Canal Mills on 13th November. His popularity is evident from the Facebook event alone, with more than 7,000 attending the event over a month in advance. Annie Mac has said ‘he makes every other DJ want to retire’, and has hailed his status as ‘legendary’. The pair are playing two Warehouse Project dates in Manchester, that have of course sold out. If you missed out on tickets for that, keep your finger on the pulse for this event at Canal Mills that is not to be missed.
Born in Tottenham, his career started from pirate radio shows, eventually moving into commercial radio, Kiss 100, and his own club night. Now, he’s a world renowned DJ that has just finished touring Asia, and will be touring the rest of the UK this winter.
DJ Zinc is also on the on line up, another pioneer of garage and dnb, who’s career also started on pirate radio station Rinse FM, before it was given a license. His track ‘Super Sharp Shooter’ kicked everything off for him in 1995, and will be sure to get everyone hyped before EZ.

Expect a lively night, and get your bass face ready, that is, if you can get a ticket. Tickets are available to those that have signed up for them and are sure to sell out like many events in Leeds. This one especially has attracted loads of attention, so keep your eyes peeled on the Facebook page for updates.
