October 2nd

  • This Girl Can – Women in Sport: A fun interactive sports session that will look at how the ‘This Girl Can’ campaign is impacting the student lifestyle. Participants will reflect on their personal motivation to get involved with sport, while also considering barriers to female engagement in sport and the importance of female role models.

  • GIAG – A Peek Behind the Curtain (Backstage Society): Ever wondered what goes on behind every theatre show? The Backstage Society are going to show you all the light, sound, set and stage management involved in putting on a show in the Riley Smith Hall.

  • GIAG – Rowing: If rowing for England is one of your #lifegoals, join Rowing society at the Boathouse to see whether you have what it takes.

October 3rd

  • Leeds RAG Manchester Raid: Join RAG for a fundraising bucket raid in Manchester, where you can raise money for a good cause, make new friends and explore a new city in just one day!

  • GIAG – Caving: Want to discover hidden depths and unknown underground spaces? Caving society will be taking you under the Yorkshire Dales to visit the road less travelled.

  • GIAG – Surfing in Scarborough: Get your surf on in Scarborough, a beautiful Northern coastal town. All equipment and training provided, as well as fish and chips when you’re done.

October 4th

  • GIAG – Gliding (Aviation Society): Get high in a different way this weekend when you go along to Aviation Society’s Gliding give it a go. You’ll never want to come down again!

  • GIAG – eSports (Gaming Society): Come to a society where BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) is standard, online gaming is social and prizes are plenty.

  • GIAG – Leeds Monopoly (Scout & Guide): Remember when you were little and you loved playing Monopoly? Well now, you’ll still be little… compared to the size of the Monopoly board you’ll be playing with. Scout and Guide Society are taking a group of keen board gamers into the city and engaging in a real life version of the classic game, touring the main sights and student hotspots of the city.
