Where to be for Sport at Leeds

Are you new to Leeds? Do you want to get involved with a particular sport? Whether you’re an experienced hockey player, or simply keen to try something new, be sure to familiarise yourself with sports hubs across Campus! Check out our summary below of the main sports facilities at the University of Leeds to find out more.

The Edge

Leeds is home to one of the largest fitness suites of any UK University and it’s right on campus! Boasting state-of-the-art Technogym facilities, this multi-million pound complex is where many students work out individually or train in one of the three large sports halls with sports societies including Basketball, Athletics, Indoor Football, Netball, Fencing, Rowing, Korfball and Trampoline. The Edge also includes a 25m swimming pool where the University’s swimming society competes. Two brand new Squash courts with hardwood floors are available to be hired out, as is a climbing wall for the more adventurous.

Sports Park Weetwood

Located three miles north of the main University campus, Sports Park Weetwood covers an extensive area of 100 acres and provides excellent facilities for sports societies. Hockey, Rugby League and Union, Association Football, Cricket, Lacrosse, American Football and Ultimate Frisbee all use Weetwood as their main training base, as well as competition in BUCS matches. The ‘View Bar’ is also part of this iconic Sporting venue, which is open on student match days.
