The latest National Student Survey (NSS) has seen Leeds University achieve record student satisfaction ratings, with 90% of final year students saying they were satisfied or very satisfied with the quality of their course.
Up by 2% from last year, this places Leeds University joint 21st on the results table, alongside the likes of Cambridge and Durham universities.
Leeds University Union also achieved a high satisfaction rating of 92%, 1% higher than last year and now the second highest ranking students’ union in the country.
Leeds is now the third highest Russell Group university for student satisfaction, although none of the 24 Russell Group establishments made it in to the top 10.
The university also maintained its high response rate of 78%, above the national average of 71%.
Toke Dahler, Union Affairs Officer at Leeds University Union, said: “I couldn’t be happier to hear that students are more satisfied than ever with the Union, and to see our increase in students’ satisfaction rise for yet another year.”
Professor Vivien Jones, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Student Education at the University of Leeds said: “This is an excellent result for us – it really consolidates the upward trend we’ve recorded in the NSS over the last five years
“As ever, there is still work to do and in the coming weeks we shall be looking at the results in detail to identify where and how we can make further improvements across all categories.”
