Leeds Grand Theatre will be welcoming a brand new production of The Sound of Music on Monday 20th July as part of its national UK tour. Arguably one of the most well-known musicals of all time, this new production is set to welcome new and old audiences alike as Danielle Hope, star of BBC’s reality show Over the Rainbow is set to portray protagonist Maria Von Trapp.
Originally a Broadway production, The Sound of Music gained mass popularity from the 1965 motion picture. Since then, songs such as Favourite Things, Edelweiss and The Sound of Music have resonated within the ears of many and to this day remain cultural icons.
Leeds Grand Theatre has been known to host grand scale touring productions of west end shows such as Shrek the Musical and Wicked, whilst also having welcomed back an encore season of Dirty Dancing in December 2014.
The Sound of Music will be performed at Leeds grand from Monday 20th July – Saturday 1st August.
