Summer Trend: Romantic Hippie

It’s the time we’ve all been waiting for, and as exams are a figment of the past, festival season is in full swing. What better was to celebrate the plethora of festivals up and down the country, and beyond, than by channelling the bohemian Coachella vibes that we have been lusting over since April.

Although we’re not all able to rock it quite like Vanessa Hudgens, we can definitely give it a go and adapt her looks for the summer season. Think sheer, floaty and texture aplenty and you’re half way there. A seventies revival differentiated by its modern shapes, broderie anglaise and intricate detailing.

The key to getting this right is adhering to a muted palette of pastel and earthy tones. Textures range from cheesecloth and crochet to suede, and these should be used to complement one another to guarantee those eclectic, rich ‘cultured’ vibes. The Romantic Hippie trend is inundated with variations of prints – paisley is a firm favourite, but the options are endless.

Here’s what ASOS has up for grabs to nail this trend.

There is more to the hippie look than flower-laden hair, and the high street has given a distinctive nod to the trend this season and made it approachable and wearable for all. So be it a European music festival, Bestival or SGP this trend will be hard to escape, and even harder to resist.
