Following the Oscars we have gathered together some of the hottest make-up trends of the red carpet and the runway. We have selected some of our favourite looks for you to check out and make your own; from bright lips to au natural, there is something here for everyone.
- BRIGHT LIPS
This season it’s all about the Oscars Look. Keep your makeup simple with matte foundation and bold lipstick, from red carpet’s favourite shades of classy red as seen on Margot Robbie and flirty orange rocked by Emma Stone to Dolce&Gabbana’s touch of deep berry on Kendall Jenner’s beautiful face.
- BROWN EYES
This is a more day to day look that made an appearance at the Oscars by way of Jessica Chastain. Eyes defined by brown shadow and mascara create a natural smoky effect achieved exceedingly well by Giorgio Armani and Givenchy. A light application of bronzer complements this look by keeping it simple and pretty in neutral tones.
- FINE LINES
Heavily-lined eyes are not only elegant but also striking for a night-out. Look at Oscar de la Renta and Prada as an example of how to achieve the result of bigger and brighter eyes. Sienna Miller went for this look at the Oscars and looked extremely fabulous!
- AU NATUREL
Calvin Klein and Chloé have both inspired us by their “bare minimum” catwalk look at the SS15 fashions shows. Victoria Beckham’s new collection has also gone for this look including simple hair-down style. Not only is it angelically cute but it emphasises the youthful quality of a natural face. This is the trend we’ve all been waiting for!
- STRIKING COLOURS
This exotic pop art eye makeup has not been featured as much at the Oscars as it has throughout the SS Fashion Weeks. The palette that designers such as Christian Dior, Elie Saab and Max Mara use on their models is brilliant, tropical and drenched in colour! If you keep the rest of your makeup simple, you could definitely rock this look at any club in Leeds.
- FAVOURITE OSCARS LOOK
It is undeniable that the gorgeous Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, Chrissy Teigen, had by far the best look on the red carpet. The beautiful Beyoncé–style curls complimented the bronzed skin and creamy wine lipstick, both of which are this season’s favourites.
