Yet another fabulous event put in place by the fashion show committee to help fundraise for the extremely worthwhile charities; Leeds Mind and The Richard Mayne foundation. As if we weren’t excited enough already for the fashion show this has only fuelled our anticipation.
The evening, held in the heart of our union Terrace, had a sample sale from Boohoo where everything was under ten pounds. This included all items, even coats, which were quickly snapped up by savvy shoppers. Leeds students are known for being some of the most stylish in the country and this sample sale and auction abled us to feel a little less guilty about spending our money as it was going towards such great causes. The charity auction had fantastic prizes up for grabs with something for everyone including STA travel vouchers, an annual Flux pass and meals at delicious venues in Leeds such as Boss Burger and Piccolinos. A Smirnoff pre-drinks party sold for an impressive fifty two pounds while a (signed!) Zac Efron poster also made in the fifties. There were also a couple of cheeky auction prizes including a meal with the rugby players which went for fifteen pounds – not bad!
There was also two for one cocktails all night including a speciality RAG cocktail. We may not be sure what was in it but it tasted lovely! With yet another event carried off so well we can look forward to the show which takes place next week which is set to be outrageous and fabulous. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet make sure you don’t miss out on one of the biggest events of the year.
