It has been announced that Halo nightclub is set to close with immediate effect.
The popular student venue only re-opened in September following alleged planning permission disputes which saw the club briefly close in May.
Andy More, the former Business Development Manager at Tokyo Industries, the company who currently own Halo, today said : “Halo is closed forever now, sadly it just can’t compete with the rest of our competition so we’ve moved Quids In to PRYZM and sold the Facebook page to Control.”
The club made headlines last year after offering to become the new host of the controversial Tequila club-night following the closure of Mezz, however quickly backed down after a wave of negative publicity.
Halo, which is located behind Leeds University’s new Laidlaw Library, is still to announce what is next for the 18th century grade II listed church which has been a nightclub and bar since 2005.
