Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shooting on Christmas Eve in Burley.

The pair, aged 24 and 27, have been released on bail since their arrest on Monday.

The news comes after police launched an appeal to trace a car believed to have been involved in the incident.

A 25-year-old man sustained injuries consistent with bullet wounds in what police described as a ‘targeted’ attack on Thornville Road, near the junction with Alexandra Road.

The investigation continues.
