Alexander Wang hits the high street with a bang

This autumn has seen one of the most highly anticipated collaborations of 2014: Alexander Wang and H&M (impressive to say the least). Since it’s launch date on 6th November, almost the entire 61 piece collection is, to many’s disappointment, sold out and has made it’s way into the world of ebay, with some jackets hitting the £500 mark.

With pieces such as cropped bralettes, scuba dresses and a range of sports accessories this collection brings Wang’s ready-to-wear high-fashion style firmly onto the high street. The use of elastic, scuba-look and leather fabrics come together to create a sports-style force that is undeniably strong. An early morning gym session will never fail in being fashionable again. The colour palate of this unique collection centres around black and grey. Although perhaps a little disappointing to some, the exciting use of unusual fabrics brings this range solidly into the future of fashion design.

Expense – a topic in constant battle with the typical student – doesn’t seem to be too extravagant. With crop-tops costing £24.99 it appears there is hope for a student budget. If leather is your thing, however, going out twice a week may need to be revised!

Wang has not failed in letting the general public know exactly who designed this range either by stamping the word ‘WANG’ repeatedly over a number of pieces. So whether you love or hate this distinctive collection, it really is quite hard to ignore.
