A wardrobe just would not be complete without a cosy woollen jumper. Jumpers this season are big, bold and chunky, making them a great, versatile investment. Wear one on its own with a statement necklace or layered under a winter coat for extra warmth.

Cable knits are always popular in high street stores, such as Zara and Topshop, and come in a variety of colours as well as the traditional shade of cream. Most popular on the catwalk this season were bold stripes seen at Sportmax and Calvin Klein and fuzzy textures at Helmut Lang. More prominently was the use of pattern that really brings this trend to life, showing that something so essential can also be highly elaborate. Look at Christopher Kane and Roberto Cavalli who had some gorgeous patterned jumpers in all different shapes and styles. Tip: try looking in the men’s wear collections where you are guaranteed to find your perfect big jumper to curl up in!
