Hyde Park Picture House 
This is Leeds’ major art-house cinema, and it celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Located in Hyde Park, unsurprisingly, it’s a ten minute walk from campus with one screen and food and drink available at the kiosk. It’s five pounds a ticket, or using EE Wednesdays makes it £2.50.
White Cloth Gallery
A centrally located gallery which hosts an eclectic range of visual art exhibitions and film screenings. This venue has a friendly and laid-back vibe. There is also a trendy café and bar, perfect for a post-exhibition tipple.
Carriageworks Theatre
Sitting directly in Millennium Square, this all-rounder hosts a range of dance, musicals, film, exhibitions, community events and workshops. It is an important space for local and regional artists alike and is home to the Leeds Civic Arts Guild.
The Henry Moore Institute
An award-winning exhibitions venue, centre for study and research, library and sculpture archive. The Institute hosts exhibitions, lectures and conferences, aiming to expand the understanding and appreciation of visual arts, and sculpture in particular. Is part of The Henry Moore Foundation, set up in 1977.
Leeds Grand Theatre
Built in 1878 in a backlash against the ‘rude’ music hall tradition, the theatre is is widely regarded as a milestone in Victorian theatre building. These days it still stands strongly, and is home to resident companies such as the fantastic Opera North and Northern Ballet.
Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery
An art gallery located in the Parkinson Building with a theatre located in the city centre, it holds a variety of exhibitions throughout the year and helps support those who study at the university.
