The words ‘disco revival’ are never far away at the moment and as lovers of the genre around the globe rejoice that the best music of all time is getting a glorified nod in the noughties, 2014’s Bestival looks set to wind down the summer with its disco of the ‘Desert Island’ variety.
What this means is open to interpretation and no doubt the thousands of festival goers that will flock to the Isle of Wight, for the extravaganza will represent the Desert Island Disco theme in their makeshift fancy dress – afro wigs full of sand perhaps? – and boogie on down to the absolutely incredible line up.
Speaking of the line up, we’re of the opinion here at LSi that it’s one of the best of this festival season. From the best ‘up and coming’ artists, such as Wolf Alice and Mø to the biggest names in dance music, to the UK’s biggest bands – Foals headlining is going to be something special! – Bestival is ticking all the boxes. And of course we can’t forget the treats that will be coming from across the Atlantic -ahem, who’s excited for Outkast!? – and absolutely not to be missed is one of party-music’s most influential men and the hottest producer on the planet, Nile Rodgers and his Chic organisation, who will be performing a mind-blowingly amazing set to bring Bestival 2014 to a close.
Oh, and did we mention that the festival is attempting to break the Guiness World Record for the Biggest Discoball Ever!? If that’s not a reason to buy a ticket and get your ass to the Isle of Wight in September then we don’t know what is.
