News | Leeds goes looking for love

RAG played Cupid last Sunday in an attempt to provide the perfect solution for post-valentine’s day disappointments with a speed dating event.

The evening, which took place in Norman’s Bar on Call Lane, was a relatively intimate affair. It attracted a crowd of 40 students, all of whom will be ‘matched’ over the coming days.

It was hoped that the event would repeat similar successes of last semester, when another RAG speed dating event raised over £600 for a local children’s charity, LDCS.

Ellie Hill, who organised the event, told LS: “The event was enjoyed by all. Norman’s Bar provided a great atmosphere that set the scene for a cheeky night of flirting, all in aid of a great, university based cause.”

English student Jasmine Andersson said: “There was a great atmosphere at the speed dating. Even if a date didn’t arrive at the table, there was always a member of RAG at hand to have a chat to. It’s for a great causes, so there was no room for complaint on my end!”
