A student has been sexually assaulted in Hyde Park this week, following a spate of sexual offences in the area.
Two individuals suspected of serial sexual molestation are currently being hunted by the West Yorkshire Police.
A total of four incidents of sexual assault have taken place over the last week in the area. Two suspects are currently wanted for questioning.
In all of the incidents, the attackers grabbed and groped passing women.
A spokesperson from the West Yorkshire Police said: “The suspect for two of the incidents was described as a white man with long brown hair who was wearing a multi-coloured beanie hat.”
“In one of the two other incidents, the suspect was described as black, with a thin face and short braided hair.”
Detective Inspector John Dexter, of Leeds District CID, said: “These incidents are being thoroughly investigated in an effort to identify the suspects.”
Police are not linking the incidents.
Dexter added: “Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team are increasing their patrols in the areas where the incidents have occurred.”
Union Welfare Officer Charlotte Warner also offered advice to students: “Even though it’s getting lighter in the evenings we urge you to walk in groups, rather than being alone, or use transport such as the night bus which will drop you off at your door for just £1.”
She added: “The student advice centre is always here for students who may have experienced something like this, please come and see them if you need any advice and support.”
Anyone with any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact CID officers at Weetwood Police Station via 101.
